Caring for Your Jewelry

Jewelry changes with you. A little care each week keeps it looking the way it did the day it arrived.

STORAGE

Most Omasi pieces come with a small pouch, that serve a purpose. Silver and Silverfilled are especially prone to oxidizing in open air, so keep them somewhere airtight, pouch pressed flat with a scrap of tissue paper tucked inside to soak up oils and moisture. Best to let your jewelry dry fully before you put it away, and store pieces separately from each other to avoid scratches and picking up tarnish from other metals.

EVERYDAY WEAR

Omasi jewelry is made for everyday, but a few habits keep it looking its best. Put it on last, after perfume, lotion and hairspray have settled, and take it off first, before you shower, swim or sleep. Sweat, chlorine and skincare products are the most common reasons jewelry loses its shine early.

CLEANING

A soft, dry cloth is usually enough. For a deeper clean, use a mild soap in lukewarm water, then dry completely before storing. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners and anything abrasive.

WHAT TO AVOID

Chlorine, saltwater, perfume and household cleaning products can all dull metal over time. We choose materials for their durability, comfort and lasting beauty, but even the best materials benefit from a little care.
